Gujarat is India's fifth largest state, located on the Arabian Sea's shores. The state is well-known for being the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, our nation's father.
Thol Lake is home to the well-known Thol wildlife refuge, which is home to hundreds of different kinds of birds. The birds have their own little water body built into the refuge.
Many migrating birds stop by this sanctuary to breed, nest, and breed. Flamingos and Sarus Cranes are two noteworthy bird species that are rather uncommon elsewhere.
According to the history of Thol Lake, it is a fresh water reservoir that was built artificially in 1912 by the Gaekwad administration.
India was experiencing a serious water shortage at the time. As a result, the ministries or authority at the time constructed this reservoir to provide water for irrigation.
In this dirty and hazardous era, being surrounded by nature is a luxury, and Gujarat gives you with this pleasure at a low cost.
Various types of flamingos, purple coloured swamp hens, spoonbills, bulbuls, sandpipers, ibis, and small ringed plover are commonly seen here.
Thol Lake has an entrance fee of Rs. 50 per person. The cost of the camera is Rs. 200. The car entry fee of Rs. 500 is a little expensive.
Thol Lake is open every day of the week from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The best time to visit the lake is early in the morning.
