A significant landslide that occurred in western Oregon's coast range around 1,400 years ago pushed a mountainside full of debris & rocks the size of houses into & across a deep and tight river canyon

Green Location Pin

Loon Lake was created by the ensuing dam and the yearly rainfall. At its terminus, Mill Creek descends more than 120 feet in less than a quarter-mile of breathtaking pools and cascades.

Heart

Indians who came from the shore & from inland regions on foot were the area's original residents many hundred years ago.  They travelled to Ash Valley to camp, collect huckleberries, & go elk hunting

The location where logs were loaded onto trucks was transformed into a well-liked family leisure area by the early 1960s.

Camping, picnics, water skiing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and all other outdoor activities are perfect at Loon Lake.

A well-liked picturesque recreation destination in the spring, summer, and fall is Loon Lake Lodge. The best largemouth bass, trout, and other forms of fishing are found in Oregon's coastal regions.

Loon Lake Lodge offers a variety of services, including hotel, camping, a deli, a store, gas, boat launch and rental, ice, and firewood.

The route and the places surrounding the lake are breathtaking, providing opportunity to witness wildlife, the natural world, and a hidden valley that has a faint Swiss or Austrian influence.

The lodge's lakeside environment is stunning throughout the summer, fall, winter, and spring. Visit the lodge for a day, a weekend, or your entire vacation.
