Tapola, often known as 'Mini Kashmir,' is located 25 kilometres ahead of Mahabaleshwar in the Satara district. Tapola is known as "Mini Kashmir" because of its breathtaking scenery.
The hamlet is recognised for its tranquil settings as well as beautiful weather. The Shiv Sagar Lake is the main attraction of the area.
The lake is 90 kilometres long and acts as a reservoir for the Koyna Dam. Boating, water scooter rides, swimming, and other activities are available to tourists.
It is also the starting point for forest treks to the Vasota fort. The 25-kilometer stretch between Mahabaleshwar and Tapola is breathtakingly beautiful.
Nature enthusiasts, photographers, and adventurers go to Tapola, where they may go hiking and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
If you choose to stay the night, the Tapola river camps have non-air-conditioned tents accessible.
By road, Tapola is around 245 kilometres from Mumbai and 145 kilometres from Pune. Wathar station is the nearest railway station to Mahabaleshwar (60 km).
The best time to visit this area and enjoy the surreal splendour of nature is from July to September.
While Mahabaleshwar remains one of Maharashtra's most prominent hill stations, Tapola is gaining popularity for its simple beauty.
